Namastey London is a Bollywood film directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah and set in London, England, United Kingdom. Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Nina Wadia, Upen Patel and Rishi Kapoor star in the film which was released on 23 March 2007.

Synopsis
Jasmeet "Jazz" Malhotra (Katrina Kaif) is an Indian girl, brought up lovingly by her father Manmohan Malhotra (Rishi Kapoor). Jazz loves everything that is British - something her father, a very Indian man with very Indian values, does not approve of. And he's not alone. Parvez Khan (Javed Sheikh), Manmohan's best friend, has a son, Imran (Upen Patel), who also embraces Western culture. In fact, he lives with his British girlfriend, something Parvez simply cannot tolerate.

Jazz is forced to marry a local from India: Arjun Singh (Akshay Kumar), Punjabi farmer. When the couple come back to london, it turns out that they are not married under British law due to Jazz's deception to her father. Arjun Singh is crushed to find this out. Furthermore he realises that his beautiful bride still intends to marry her British boyfriend, thus being forced to watch as Jazz flirts with another man. However, Arjun won't give up without a fight and sets out to make his wife fall in love with him.

* This is Katrina Kaif's and Akshay Kumar's second film together. The first one was Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006).
* This is Akshay Kumar's third film with Vipul Amrital Shah after Aankhen (2003) and Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005).
* This film has a reference to the 1971 Manoj Kumar film Purab Aur Paschim which has a similar storyline
* This movie marks the first time Himesh Reshammiya working with lyricist Javed Akhtar
* This marks Akshay Kumar's third super successful film with Vipul Shah.
* In the starting of the film when Bobby Bedi (Ritesh Deshmukh) is talking to himself, Vipul Shah is the man who walks by him and talks to him for a brief moment
* This is the first film Katrina has dubbed herself. Her previous films have been dubbed by someone whose native language is Hindi. The role actually allowed Katrina to dub herself because she plays a British girl who is not very Indian
Goof ups
* When the credits roll at the start of the movie, it says on the screen 'Director by Vipul Amrutlal Shah' instead of 'Directed by' or 'Director'.
* In one scene you can hear Vipul Shah's voice used in place of Akshay's.
* In the scene where Charlie Brown calls up Jazz while she is at the dance class, you can hear Vipul Shah say the last line 'Come right now'.
* In the scene where Rishi Kapoor and wife meet Charlie's parents, Rishi Kapoor's cellphone rings. The ringtone is 'Saare Jahan se accha' but it is hummed by a person.
* Rishi Kapoor is referred sometimes as Mr. Malhotra in couple of scenes and then as Mr. Manmohan Singh in others. Katrina (Jazz) is always referred as Jasmeet Singh. Official website for the movie mentions Rishi Kapoor's Character as Manmohan Singh.
Copyright issues
* The background music (violin) used throughout the film and even during the climax scene is directly lifted from the Juliette Binoche-Johnny Depp film Chocolat.
* the scene in the starting of the film where Akshay Kumar takes Katrina to the altar, the song which is playing in the background is the song Eden.
